How do I change the short summary description Google has on my Google Business listing?

Google creates something called an 'Editorial Summary' for every business on Google. This is auto generated and not submitted by the business owner.

An example is in the picture below in the red square.

Google does not allow customers to edit that piece of information through your Google Business profile.

You can read more on the subject here

How do you change that description?

To change the info you'll reach out to Google Support directly and ask them to update it.

We've had some customers have success with Google accepting a change that the restaurant owner suggested while other restaurants just get a refreshed description from Google without any input from the restaurant owner.

What description does Checkle control on your Google Business listing?

On your 'Business Information' tab in Checkle for Business, you can control the longer description of your business.

On your Google Business profile, this description can be found near the bottom of your Google Business listing.

The photo below is an example of that section. This section is more focused on technical SEO while the "Editorial Summary" is what customers will see with a quick blip. This description can be found in the red square.
