These attributes are going to be the most common attributes that every online platform is going to accept. It is 10/10 important that you keep your information up to date in this section.
We recommend changing the attributes in this section as infrequently as possible, with hours being the only exception. Many of these attributes will sometimes require you to 'Reverify' your business details with certain platforms, like Google.
Core Business Information
- Business Name
- Name of your business.
- It is recommended that you keep this simple and do not include any location information in the business title on your Google Business listing. Google will penalize you for doing this. Google has your address information and will use their algorithm to show the most relevant location based on the user's search.
- Example:
- "Pappy's Pizza - Huntsville" is bad.
- "Pappy's Pizza" is good.
- Address
- Mailing address to your business.
- Main Phone
- Phone number your customers should use to call your business.
- Website
- Link to your website where you'd like your customers to click to view your business website.
- Hours
- This section reflects the hours that your business is open and closed for business.
- Think of this section as if you're answering the question: If a customer were to walk up to your doors, would the doors be unlocked?
- The section below has an area for putting in special hours for kitchen, lunch, brunch, etc.
- Categories
- Up to 10 categories can be listed here.
- The first listed is the 'Primary' category. This is the most important and the main one that Google will use to categorize your business.
- You can list 9 other 'Secondary' categories.
